#uStats — Movie Monday, Top Box Office Hits, Sept 11-13, 2015
With the unofficial end of summer officially behind us, the daily grind of seemingly endless homework assignments, office meetings and everything in between resumed full force for most across the country. Perhaps so much so that a little escapism was in order for millions of Americans, as box office earnings for the top five films rose 31.2% compared to the longer Labor Day weekend. Fatal attraction thriller The Perfect Guy and M. Night Shamalan's The Visit joined the ranks of the most monied movies alongside War Room, A Walk In The Woods and Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation. But which ones got people talking the most on Facebook and Twitter? Here's what we found.
The Social Totals
War Room continues to conquer the competition when it comes to capture the highest volume of engagements, accumulating 255.4K likes, comments, shares, retweets and favorites for a 60.7% market share. The Visit also showed its true colors as a digital dynamo, grabbing second place by generating a respectable 136.0K engagements for a 32.3% market share.
Just because an account has a high amount of engagements, doesn't necessarily mean that it also has a highly active, receptive audience. However when we look at engagements in relation to audience size, War Room 's digital family continued to strongly interact with their content, generating 598.3 engagements per 1K users. The Perfect Guy had audiences wary of what's too good to be true, scaring up 505.6 engagements per 1K users to secure the runner up spot.
